Where to Go Camping
The “Where To Go Camping Guide” provides Scout leaders-including Scoutmasters, Cubmasters, Webelos Leaders, Scouters, and Scout families-with current information on places to go camping, hiking, canoeing, cycling, horseback riding, boating, and for other short term recreational activities. If you have any additional information or would like to “Submit a Destination” please feel free to follow the link or select it from the drop down menu. This is an ever changing guide.

Campership
The Nanuk Lodge raises funds to help support sending kids (you do not have to be an arrowmen to apply) to camp who may not otherwise have the opportunity because of their financial situation. The form felow should be filled in it’s entirety and turned in to the lodge for review. Camperships are awarded based on need. Due to the number of requests recieved each year full camperships are seldom given. The Parents or the Unit are asked to make up the difference between the campership amount and the total camp fee.

Year Round Camping Award Program
One of the many purposes of the Order of the Arrow is to promote scout camping. Whether that be at your local council camp or with your troop. Camping is a vital part of what builds character and instills in us a love of nature. This award is open to all Scouts, Venturers, Sea Scouts and Scouters. The program recognizes those who continue to camp through the year with their units. Your troop will be able to purchase the awards to recognize the scouts at your next meeting or court of honor.

Below Freezing Award Program
Here in Alaska we don’t get nice weather all the time, in fact majority of our year is covered in snow. So to help recognize honor campers and promote camping as well as offer the scouts of our council a challenger. We produce and maintain the Below Freezing Award Program.

The Award recognizes scouts and leaders who camp in below freezing temperatures and offer a -100, -200 and -300 below award to recognize this accomplishment. The form is below with the criteria, your Unit Leader and OA Rep and Adviser should fill it out after your campouts following the requirements and turn into the Scout Service Center. Your troop will be able to purchase the awards to recognize the scouts at your next meeting or court of honor.
